War criminal and death row convict Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mir Quasem Ali was shifted to Dhaka Central Jail from Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur on Monday morning.
Law enforcers along with Quasem started for the capital from Kashimpur Jail part-2 around 7.15am, said Prosanto Kumar Banik, the jail super. On June 6,
the Supreme Court released the full text of its verdict upholding the death penalty of war crimes convict Mir Quasem Ali for the crimes against humanity he committed during the 1971 Liberation War. Earlier on March 08, the Appellate Division upheld the death penalty for Mir Quasem Ali for his crimes against humanity during the Liberation War.
