Mir Chess Club became unbeaten champions in the Philosphisa 2nd Division Chess League on Monday. The chess meet was held at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.
Mir Chess gained 13 points to clinch the title. Players of Mir Chess Club are: S M Farhadur Imam, Abdul Momin, Anisuzzaman Jewel, Mohammad Sherajul Kabir, Kazi Taherul Islam and Masudur Rahman Mallick Dipu. Agrani Bank Limited Daba Dal became runners-up. Agrani Bank bagged 12 points. Players of Agrani Bank Limited are: Syed Monirul Haque, Moniruzzaman Khan, Habibur Rahman Sohel, Mukitul Islam Ripon, Jewel Khan and Sazzad Kishor. Sonargaon Chess Club became 3rd and Chess Q became 4th with 10 points each. Players of Sonargaon are: Md Manik Miah, Md Ayub Ali, Shah Alam Ropon, Zafrul Islam, Mohammad Nazrul Islam and Mizanur Rahman Razib. Asad Chess Club became 5th with 9 points, four teams earned 8 points each and their positions are: 6th-New Nation Chess Club, 7th-Pin Chess Power, 8th-Barimojlish Chess Academy and 9th-Dbanol Chess Club. Champions Mir Chess Club and runners-up Agrani Bank Limited Daba Dal qualified in the 1st Division Chess League. The chess meet was held on seven round Swiss League system and total 23 teams participated in the competition.
