Ahsanul Haque Minu is a freedom fighter and daring actor. He took part in Liberation War in Sector No 7 under Maj Kazi Nuruzzaman. During that time he was seating for then Matric (now SSC) examination. Ignoring his parents’ requests he went to the war. In 1972, his father died. Once a talented student of Bogra Azizul Haque College Minu was fascinated with acting during his childhood.
After Liberation War he started to perform with Bogra’s Nattyagosthi and Momtaz Uddin Ahmed’s Theatre in Dhaka. With these two groups he has already performed more than 1200 plays on stage.
This valiant actor for the first time acted in role of a collaborator in a play titled Shesh Chithi. Shamim Zaman gave direction of the play. Recently its shooting was done at Pubail in Gazipur.
While sharing his feelings to play in role of a collaborator in the play Minu told this correspondent, “As I was a freedom fighter I saw how collaborators worked during the Liberation War. To portray their activities properly, I acted in that role in the play.”
In TV serial, Minu was first seen to act in Salauddin Lavlu’s mega serial Ronger Manush.
In film, his acted first movie was Dilip Shome’s Shohor Thekey Durey. Later he acted in Abdul Latif Bachchu’s Haatkora and Kazi Zahir’s Phuler Mala. Due to his engagement on the stage he was slightly absence from big screen later.
But he came into limelight to act in Goutam Ghosh’s Padma Nodir Majhi.
Then Minu was seen to act in Goutam Ghosh’s another movie Moner Manush, Abu Sayeed’s Opekkha, Gias Uddin Selim’s Monpura, Shahidul Islam Khokon’s Bangla, Razzak’s Ayna Kahini and Bapparaz’s Kartooz.
