The members of a minority family in the city were threatened by some unidentified miscreants recently. The miscreants also physically assaulted two of the family members.
It is alleged that some ten unidentified persons visited the house of Khokan Chandra Barua, son of Late Bhuban Mohan Barua at city’s Alkaran area under Kotwali Police Station at around 8.30 pm on Monday (10 August , 2015) .
They looked for Khokan calling his name using filthy and indecent words. Failing to find him in the house at that time, they assaulted Khokan’s wife Shyamali Barua and the eldest son Naresh Barua physically.
Khokan’s family also alleged that the unidentified persons intimidated them while leaving the spot.
Following the incident, Khokan Chandra Barua’s wife Shyamali Barua and the sons Naresh Barua and Rajesh Barua have been facing lack of security and passing their days amid anxiety and fear. They sought adequate security measures from the authorities concerned.
