Police arrested a tea stall owner allegedly for shocking a five-year old boy with a hot iron rod into his rectum at Rubbardum village in Nalitabari upazila on Saturday.
The accused was identified as Babul Hossain of the village.
Babul Hossain along with his son Hridoy Mia shocked the boy after the child named Naem of the village, as the accused claimed, was bothering them that led them to carry out the torture, officer-in-charge of Nalitabari Police Station Abul Khaier said quoting locals.
Hearing the screams of the victim, his family members rushed in and took him to Nalitabari Upazila Health Complex where he is undergoing treatment.
The district court sent the accused to Jail on Saturday after police produced him before it while the other accused Hridoy remains in hiding since the incident, the OC added.
