A primary school girl was rapped by railway employee at VIP rest house in Kishoreganj Rail Station on Monday night at 8.10 pm. The victim student reads in class five in Kishoreganj Railway Primary school.
The accused was identified as Mahmudul Hasan Sagar. He is known to be a temporary employee of the fourth class of the engineering department of the railways. Later, Railway Police (GRP) rescued the girl with her hands and feet tied. The victim’s brother has filed a case with kishoreganj GRP Station.
However, Mahmudul has been absconding since the incident. That student is known to him. According to police and railway sources, Mahmudul took the girl to the VIP rest house on the second floor of the railway station last evening when he was talking about his friend’s birthday party. He took the girl to the toilet of the rest house, tied her hands and feet and raped her.
At that time, the GRP and the people of the station rushed to the spot, broke down the door and rescued the girl with her hands and feet tied. Mahmudul went to the pavilion through the window.
Acting Station master of Kishoreganj Md. Joynal said that they came to know about the incident in the hustle and bustle of the people. In the evening CCTV footage showed Mahmudul entering the rest-house with the girl. The matter has been reported to the higher authorities. Departmental action will be taken against him.
