A minor girl was raped by a youth at Khadinagar Barojan Tea Garden in Sadar upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
Shah Jaman, officer-in-charge of Sylhet Airport Police Station, said the young man named Kajol,22,son of Gauhar Miah, a resident of the same area took the five-year old girl to his house at about 1:00 pm and violated her.
Hearing her screams, local people rescued her and managed to catch the alleged rapist.
The victim was rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Informed, police arrested Kajol.
A case was filed in this connection.
