Police arrested two persons on the charge of a six-year old minor girl was allegedly raped by his cousin in Hotrapara village under Sadar upazila of Panchagarh on Sunday afternoon.
The accused is Ashraful Islam, 23, son of one Rafiqul Islam of the village. Police have also arrested rapist father Rafiqul and his brother Naimur for interrogation.
Victim family sources said, the incident occurred when the girl was playing in a nearby field.
Accused Ashraful took her to a nearby bamboo grove and raped her on Sunday afternoon. He fled the scene as the victim started bleeding.
Afterwards, minor returned home with injured and disclosed the matter to her parents who later rushed her to Panchagarh Sadar Adhunik Hospital. Victim was, later, shifted to Rangpur Medical Colege Hospital for better treatment. The victim’s mother lodged a case with Sadar Police Station at night.
Dr Ummey Humaira, Assistant Surgeon of the hospital said the victim was given first-aid in Sadar Hospital and shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital as her condition deteriorated. Md Jamal Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Panchagarh Sadar Police Station confirmed the matter to the media.
