A minor girl has been raped and killed in Natore’s Naldanga Upazila. Naldanga police OC Nazibul Islam said her body was found lying in a mango grove in the Yarpur village on Monday evening.
The 11-year-old fifth grade student was the daughter of Jahurul Islam, a resident of the village. Mobarak Hossain Kalu, 23, and ‘Mithun’, 23, of the same village had been held for their suspected involvement in the crime, Islam said.
“Police nabbed Kalu on Monday night based on information provided by one of the victim’s classmates. Kalu’s confession
led to Mithu’s arrest,” he said.
They had admitted their guilt in the preliminary interrogation, he added. The OC said the girl had been missing after going to school in the morning.
The body had been sent to the hospital for autopsy. The victim’s father, Islam, filed a case with Naldanga police over the crimes.
