An eleven-year-old girl was raped on Thursday by an unidentified youth at Ambagan adjacent to Jahangirnagar University, family members of the victim claimed.
The victim, a fourth grader student, was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after taking primary treatment from JU medical centre.
Asma Siddika, duty doctor of the JU medical centre told this correspondent that they have spotted rape sign and then referred her to the DMCH for necessary treatment.
Quoting the family members, police said an unidentified youth called the girl from her parent’s house and took her to a nearby house and raped her there.
Later, the girl returned to her house and informed the matter to her parents.
Rokibul Hasan, sub-inspector of Ashulia Police Station said that they have already visited the spot and trying to nab the rapist.
A case to be filed with the police station in this connection, added the SI.
