A six-year old girl allegedly was raped at laxmipur area in Bhairab town of Kishoreganj on Thursday afternoon.
At the end of the rape, the child was left in the bushes. Later, the locals rescued the child unconscious and took him to Bhairab Upazila health complex.
According to police and locals, the child’s father is a mason by profession. He lives with his family members in Bhairab’s laxmipur. The child could not be found at home after two in the afternoon. Later at three o’clock in the afternoon he was found lying in the bushes.
The baby’s father said, ‘My daughter can’t speak properly. As a result, I did not know much about it.
Upazila Health Complex Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Khurshid Alam said the child’s genitals had been cut off. There is bleeding. Early health tests showed signs of rape. That is why the child has been sent to Kishoreganj Sadar Hospital through the police for examination.
Bhairab Police Station Officer-in charge (OC, Investigation) Kazi Mahfuz Siddique says, ‘No complaint has been received from the child’s family so far. However, after receiving information from the hospital, we sent the child to Kishoreganj General Hospital.
