Law enforcers on Tuesday morning recovered the body of a missing minor girl from Manik Hazir Tola under Charbagdanga union in Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila after one day.
Police suspected that the victim girl was killed after she was raped.
Victim was identified as Moslema Khatun Lima, 7,
daughter of one Mohammad Ruhul Amin from Hazirtola village of the district.
Mahbub Alam Khan, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Chapainawabganj, confirmed the matter to the media and said that the girl had been missing since Monday afternoon. Relatives of the victim were searching her each and every corner of the village.
Later, the girl’s father lodged a general diary (GD) with Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Police Station in the evening that day. Locals found her body in a bamboo garden and informed the thana. Police then recovered and sent her body to Chapainawabganj District Hospital for an autopsy, ASP Mahbub added.
We have collected evidence from the scene. We will, if required, investigate further. However, primarily we suspect that she was raped and then murdered, Police official said.
