A minor girl was found dead inside a reserve water tank at Satmasjid Housing near Mohammadpur embankment in the city on Thursday.
The minor baby was identified as Mukta Akhtar, 6, daughter of Mostafizur Rahman of Lalmohon in Bhula district. She was residing with her parents at a rented house inside Satmasjid Housing.
Mukta had been missing since 1:00 pm on Thursday. Later her body was found floating inside the reserve tank of the house at about 4:00 pm, said Mostafiz.
Being informed, a team of Mohammadpur police station recovered the body at about 4:45 pm and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
