A minor boy drowned in a pond at Arpara in Sadar upazila of Jessore district on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Hasibul Hasan,5, son of Mitul Hossain a resident of the village.
Family members said Hasibul drowned while taking bath in the pond near his house to the unawareness of his family members in the morning.
Later, he was rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead.
