A one and a half year-old boy was stabbed to death at Bhagabanpur in Sadar upazila on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Siam, son of Yusuf Ali of Jagadishpur Mridhapara village in the upaizla.
Quoting local pople, police said Nasim, an employee of a poultry farm of Ibrahim, elder brother of Yusuf, took Siam with him for roaming on Wednesday and remained missing since then.
On Thursday, local people spotted the body of Siam in a water body and informed police, said Raihan Kabir,a
officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue.
Later, local people caught Nasim and handed him to police.
The motive behind the killing could not be known yet, said the OC.
