A minor boy has been missing in the city for around three months.
The victim is Rabbani, 10, son of Moslem Sheikh, a tenant of the Zaminder Bari near Wonderland Shishu Park at Khalishpur.
Moslem said Rabbani along with others went out of their residence during Holy Ashura on September 21 last for Jashore to witness a programme there.
However, the boy did not return home although others came back from Jashore after the programme, he said.
The victim’s father filed a general diary with Khalishpur Police Station on September 27 in this regard.
Moslem said police detained their neighbour Iqbal over the incident for his suspicious behaviour but later they released him for ‘mysterious reason’.
Sub-inspector Abdul Mannan of Khalishpur Police Station said Rabbani went missing after he went to witness a programme of Biharis on the occasion of Holy Ashura.
He said although they detained Iqbal over the incident, they later released from at the request of the local elite.
