A minor boy has been killed after being kidnapped for ransom allegedly by a tenant of their house at Baniarchala of Sadar upazila.
Police recovered the body of Abdullah Al Noman, 6, son of Lokman Hossain, from behind a factory in Gazipura of the city on Thursday noon.
Sub-inspector of Tongi East Police Station Md Sohrab Hossain said Lokman’s tenant Bablu Hossain kidnapped the boy on Wednesday afternoon and demanded money from his family for his release.
However, the victim’s family informed Joydevpur Police Station of the matter instead of giving the ransom.
Police on Thursday morning arrested Bablu when he confessed to kidnapping the boy, saying he had strangulated the boy to death and dumped the body behind the factory.
Following his information, law enforcers recovered the body.
