A seven-year old boy was allegedly killed by some unidentified miscreants inside a match factory in the city’s Shyampur area on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Abdullah, son of Mostafa Mia and Ayesha Begum, inhabitants of Alibahar area of the city.
Abudllah’s unclaimed body was recovered in a pool of blood from inside of the Uzzala Match Factory Limited around 3:00pm, police said.
Kazi Wazed Ali, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kadamtali Police Station, said, “Police recovered the body inside the factory following information and sent it to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead around 3:30pm.” He said that the body was recovered from the closed-door factory which created a mystery in the area.
Several injury marks were found in the body, the police official said.
“We are investigating the incident,” the OC said.
The body was handed over to the family members after postmortem at DMCH morgue, he added.
