A three-year-old boy drowned in a ditch at Tarakandi Uttarpara village in Sarishabari Upazila of the district on Thursday morning.
The victim was Imon, son of Rubel Hossain of the village.
Imon was playing at their courtyard in the morning while his mother was cooking for her family and his father was not at home . As he was not found elsewhere, his parents and relatives started searching for him.
Later, they recovered body of the boy from a nearby ditch at around 11.30 am, said Inspector Mahabbat Kabir, In-charge of Tarakandi Police Investigation Centre quoting the victim’s family members.
