A five-year-old boy was brutally killed at Kejaura village in Derai upazila of Sunamganj district early Monday.
Ears were ripped off, throat slit open and genital cut off and two knives were inserted inside his (body) stomach.
Police recovered the hanging body of Tuhin Miah from a tree at Kejaura village in the morning, Reports our Sunamganj Correspondent quoting Abu Taher Mollah, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Derai Police Station.
When the child’s parents Abdul Basir and Monira Begum woke up at their Kejaura house around 2:30am, they found Tuhin missing and saw the door of house open, said one of the victim’s relative Imran Ahmed.
Hearing hue and cry, neighbours rushed to the spot and started looking for him and while searching, they saw some bloodstains on the road. Following the road, they found the hanging body of Tuhin near a local mosque and informed the police, he said.
Police are investigating the murder. The body has been sent to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Police found names of two villagers written on the handles of the knives that were inserted inside the stomach of the boy, said Soumya Chowdhury, Chairman of Rajanagar Union Parishad.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Derai Police Station AK Nazrul Islam said that Police are trying to arrest the killers.
