The Attorney General (AG) Mahbubey Alam said the Law Ministry will take steps against prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal Tureen Afroz, if the allegations raised against her are found true.
In reply to a query, the AG told this to the
reporters at his office at the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday.
There is an allegation that prosecutor Tureen Afroz held a secret meeting with one of the accused of crimes against humanity case. As a result, she has already been withdrawn from operating all cases of the tribunal.
When asked, the AG said, “The Law Ministry will take steps against her if the allegation is found true. I neither go to the International Crimes Tribunal nor operate any case there. It is not possible for me to tell something about the matter.”
He, however, said, “I always speak over bringing changes in the prosecutor team.”
