Ministry allowed 5pc more pilgrims replacement for agencies

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has sanctioned five per cent more replacement facilities for Hajj agencies. In response to the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) request, ministry allowed agencies to send five per cent more pilgrims on condition.
To avail these facilities, agencies must have to apply to the Ashkona Hajj Camp Director within July 25 with HAAB’s recommendation through online.
Regarding this, a notice was issued signed by Abdullah Arif Mohammed, Senior Assistant Secretary of Religious Affairs Ministry on Tuesday.
“If the registered person dies of illness, then dead certificate from the registered physicians and written application from his/her real heirs have to be submitted on behalf of the replacement able person”, said the notice.
Earlier, Religious Affairs Ministry gives 10 per cent replacement chance twice to agencies. Now it has been made 15 per cent with newly sanctioned five per cent for replacement.
Meanwhile, a total of 77,163 pilgrims under government and private management from Bangladesh left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj this year till Tuesday.
For ferrying those pilgrims, both Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines operated 208 dedicated flights so far.
Of them, the Biman Bangladesh Airlines had 108 flights while the Saudi Arabian Airlines 100 flights.
Besides, thirteen Bangladeshi nationals died in Saudi Arabia so far, according to the Religious Affairs Ministry.
