UNB, Dhaka :Speakers at a roundtable here on Sunday urged the ministries concerned to work in a coordinated way to check human trafficking.They came up with the call at a roundtable, titled ‘Human Trafficking Bangladesh Preparedness’, organised by Centre for Non-Resident Bangladeshis (CNRB) at the Jatiya Press Club.Chaired by CNRB chairman SM Shekil Chowdhury, the roundtable was also addressed by Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) director (investigations) Nur Khan, and Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU) chairman Prof Tasneem Siddique.Speaking on the occasion, ASK director Nur Khan said the ministries of Home, Law, Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Affairs failed to put forth a coordinated action programme against human trafficking.He also alleged that local leaders, public representatives and ruling party activists are also involved in human trafficking. RMMRU Chairman Prof Tasneem Siddique observed that the government has failed to implement the laws to curb the human trafficking.
