Minister visits proposed Bangabandhu Road

Minister of Local Government Division Md Tajul Islam visited ongoing work of proposed ‘Jatir Janak Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman road (former PC road) in Chattogram city on Friday.
While visiting the undergoing construction work of the road Minister expressed satisfaction towards the quality of the road. He noted the importance of the road and told to finish the construction of the road as soon as possible. Meanwhile, City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin demonstrated the design of the road which includes RCC drain, Mid Island, beautification and LED lighting.
A total of Tk. 170 crore has been allocated for the development and expansion of 5.7 kilometer long and 120 feet wide road under the management of Chittagong City Corporation, funded by JICA. The work of Taka 100 crore from Nimtala to Tasafia and Tk 42 crore from Anandpuri to Mazar is underway.
Besides, the construction work of Taka 28 crore from Mazar to Alangkar is to begin. There will be 9 inch of carpeting on the road. Among others, Secretary, Ministry of Local Government division , Helal Uddin Ahmed, Chairman, WASA A K M Foyejullah and Executive Engineer, Chattogram City Corporation, Project manager Ashim Barua were present during the visit.
