Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that political influence won’t be allowed about eviction of the illegal establishments in the hills.
He said this after visiting the risk-prone hills at Motijhorna area of Lalkhan Bazar in the Chittagong city on Thursday (June 15).The minister said, “Thousands of hill people live in the hilly districts facing risk. The illegal establishments will be evicted from the hilly areas to save the lives. Stern action will be taken against those who will try to create political influence to prevenet the eviction drives.” Later, he visited Batali Hill area and storm-affected areas of Halishohor in Chittagong.
Chittagong City Corporation mayor AZM Nasir Uddin, lawmaker Afsarul Ameen and Deputy Commissioner M Zillur Rahman Chowdhury accompanied him during his visit.
3 shops fined of Tk 40,000 : The mobile court in a bid to control price hike during the holy month of Ramadan on Wednesday visited a market of Boalkhali upazila of the district and fined three shops Taka 40,000 on different grounds.
Afia Akter, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Boalkhali upazila, fined three clothes shops Taka 40,000 for realizing exorbitant prices and not showing the price list.
