State Minister for Land Md. Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed has expressed resentment over the mismanagement of of Land Acqusition (LA) Department of Chittagong district administration and he also felt embarrassing over the money scandal of Tk.58 lakh in Chittagong court building premises recently.
He also raised questions over the police investigations on recovery of Tk.58 lakh. The minister expressed these views during his unscheduled visit in LA Department of Chittagong district administration at court building premises on Sunday.
The allegations of bribe money against the officials of LA Department is embarrassing and intolerable, he said.
He also disclosed that when we are working relentlessly for brightening the image of the present govt, the news of such bribe scandal by the Govt officials is really shocked and embarrassing.
He said the bad reputation over land administration is old of long days but we are trying to regain the good reputation over land administration. He also directed the officials of the LA Department to reduce the involvement of land brokers and tyranny of the these brokers in land offices. The minister disclosed it journalists that present with him that on the day of bribe scandal money recovery, he was on tour abroad but he enquired the matter from abroad. He goes round the district LA office and the tyranny of the land brokers in LA office decreased to maximum extents through installing CCTV cameras in offices of LA department.
The minister also expressed dissatisfaction digitalization of office processing, files , records aimed at total reduction of harassment to beneficiaries and asked the officials to minimize the sufferings of the beneficiaries till installation of digitalized device.
Over the degitalised system of land management, the minister said he contacted Norway, Korea and UK govt over the digitalized land management system which will take atleast 3 years.
In preliminary stage, the land management in district headquarters and metro office will come under digitalized system which will gradually to be expanded in other places across the country.
The minister also visited the Revenue Department of the district administration on same day.
Chittagong Divisional Commissioner Md. Abdullah and the Deputy Commissioner Mezbahuddin alongwith senior officials of DA accompanied the minister during his visit, sources said.
