Minhazuddin takes solo lead after 3rd round

IM Minhazuddin Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy took solo lead after the 3rd round of the Berger Paints National A Chess now being held at the Media Centre of Bangladesh Olympic Association.
Minhaz beat his teammate FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed. Minhaz played with white pieces against Sicilian Defense of Nasir, Minhaz continued to Scheveningen system and won at 27 moves.
GM Enamul Hossain of Bangladesh Navy lost to Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan of Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club and GM Niaz Murshed of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited lost to Masum Hossain of Fire-Service & Civil Defense in his 3rd round games.
In the 3rd round games were held on Monday, Mostafa played with white pieces with English opening and beat GM Enamul at 105 moves. Niaz played with white pieces against Queen’s Indian Defense of Masum, Masum made a King side attacked and beat GM Niaz after 47 moves.
GM Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohammed beat FM Kh. Aminul Islam of Bangladesh Navy. Zia played with black pieces took Dutch Defense and continued against Classical system. Zia won after 31 moves.
Reigning Champion GM Abdullah Al Rakib of Bangladesh Navy beat CM Sohel Chowdhury of Leonine Chess Club. Rakib played with black pieces took Chigorin Defense of Closed RuyLopez of Sohel and Rakib won after 50 moves.
FM Rezaul Haque of Access Group beat CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed of Dhaka Mohammedan S.C. Limited. Reza played with white pieces against Philidor Defense of Mahtab and won at 66th moves. Uten of Access Group drew with FM Debaraj Chatterjee of Titas Club. Uten played with black pieces in Closed Catalan game and drew after 54 moves.
