A rice mill, one spice grinding mill, two bedding stores and a mango wholesale shop were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out at Halim market under Chakravarty area of Gazipur city on Thursday.
Mohammad Abdul Hamid , senior fire service station officer of Savar, said the fire originated from an electric short circuit and engulfed the mills and shops within short time.
Being informed, 3 fire service units from Savar doused the fire after a frantic effort of more than one hour with the help of locals, fire service sources said.
