Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon on Saturday said the extremists and militants want to obstruct spread freethinking in the country and rallying for causing infiltration of imperialist force into Bangladesh.
“They want to spread the poison-gas of communalism in the country and push it towards darkness. So, we all have to get united against them with the spirit of 1971 to foil all their evil attempts,” he said.
Menon came up with the observations while addressing a national conference held on the occasion of 33rd founding anniversary of Bangladesh Ganashilpi Sangstha at Bangla Academy.
Presided over by Kh M Sayeed, the function was also addressed by cultural activist Mamunur Rashid, Khairul Alam Sabuj, Professor Malay Bhowmik, Sujay Shyam, among others.
“Extremists want to choke the humane sentiment and want to destroy social values and equality. They want to destroy all our achievements and we have to get united against them,” Menon added.
