Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan said the militants are trying to save the war criminals. “There is no difference between the war criminals and the militants. The militants are active to save the war criminals,” he said this on Sunday while addressing an anti-militancy rally on the premises of Motijheel Sonali Bank in the city prior to a ‘red-flag’ procession. International War Crimes Mass Trial Movement organized the procession against militancy and terrorism. Shajahan Khan is convener of International War Crimes Mass Trial Movement. The minister said the militants are killing innocent people irrespective of their religious faiths. It is now time to face the militants, he said, adding that all militants would be apprehended gradually. “They will not be able to remain hidden for long as they are isolated from the people,” he said. Referring to killings by militants on Eid day, Shajahan Khan said they want to go to power by killing men. He blamed the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami for patronizing militants. The minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is determined to eliminate the militants. Muktijoddha Sangsad Vice-President Ismat Kadir Gama, Solani Bank Employees Union-202 President Kamal Uddin and film director Rokeya Prachi attended the rally, among others.
