Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Sunday termed the militants as minority group in the country.
“The Hindus, Buddhists and other religious communities are not minority groups in the country. But the militants are the minority group in the country,” he said while addressing at a function at RK Mission in the city yesterday night.
He said that there is no possibility of terror attacks during the celebration of Durga Puja as the government has taken massive security arrangements for smooth celebration of the
Durga Puja. He also requested the people not to be panicked.
Replying to a query, the minister said people now have confidence in the law enforcers as most of militants’ dens have been destroyed.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque said that there is no room for the militants in the country.
