NTV Online :Following the deadly Paris attacks jihadist groups in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India, with large numbers of aspiring or active militants now seeking to pledge allegiance to the Islamic State (IS), reports Janes.com.’The Paris attacks have had a major effect – perhaps closest in scale to the 11 September 2001 attacks in the United States.”With their cadres threatening to break away, existing mainstream groups such as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), and the Indian Mujahideen (IM) are now increasingly likely to apply to join the Islamic State.’The report also said, ‘Groups that are currently weakened, due to financial difficulties or state action, will be more likely to join the Islamic State, although there is unlikely to be any change in the target patterns of these groups without active financial or material support from the Islamic State.’
