Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) claimed to have arrested one of the financiers of the banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) at Ashulia on Saturday afternoon.
The arrested Abdur Rahman was the main financier behind all the recent subversive activitie, RAB sources said.
Abdur Rahman was arrested from the fourth
floor of a five-storey building at Bashundhara in Ashulia’s Baipail, they said.
The operation began around 3:30pm. Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, Abdur Rahman jumped off his flat cutting the grill and sustained injuries, according to them.
He was later admitted to the Intensive care Unit (ICU) of Enam Medical College Hospital at Savar.
Abdur Rahman used to stay in the flat with his wife and children. The elite force also recovered Tk 30 lakh, a firearm, ammunition, sharp weapons and a mobile jammer from the flat.
