A team of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive detained four persons, including an alleged member of banned radical outfit Ansar Al Islam from Ashulia’s Dendor area, on the outskirts of the capital, on Wednesday.
The arrested persons are Nafiz Shakil, alleged member of Ansar Al Islam, Nannu, Shuvo and Shamim, said Mohiuddin Faruqui, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of RAB-10.
They also seized different equipments of VoIPs (Voice over Internet Protocol ) from their possession.
Nafiz tried to collect fund for the organization from different sources, the RAB official said.
The arrested men were being interrogated in connection with fund collection from their so-called sources, he said.
A case was filed with the Ashulia Police Station in this connection, he added.
