Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan yesterday said that the militants have already been resisted. Now, it is time to eliminate them forever.
Terming the militants as the wounds of society, he said it (wounds) should be cured by providing proper treatment. Speaking an Eid reunion function here, the minister said those who are nursing the militants, should not be spared for their misdeeds. “Petron of militants may not be allowed for such heinous acts as the militants are killing innocent people,” Khan said categorically. Rajoir upazilla Awami League organized the Eid reunion with president of the organization Motaleb Mian in the chair. Information affairs secretary to Bangladesh Chhatra League Rizon Mian also spoke on the occasion. Shipping minister questioned that who is providing money and firearms to militants and what are the sources of firearms. All those information are getting out one by one. Khan said Begum Zia and her son Tareq, who is living in London, are trying to destroy the country only for their lust (greed) for power as the duo do not like the country’s stability and development.
The minister said that the time has come to unit all with the spirit of war of liberation to eradicate militancy forever. Later, the shipping minister distributed 30 swing machines among poor women under the financial assistance of Asian Development Bank.
