Mili Basar: A loving mother in TV plays

This time viewers watch an affectionate mother in most of the plays in the small screen. They also like her to watch on the screen. Directors also feel comfortable to cast her. She is Mili Basar. In 1978, she started acting with theatre group, Dhaka Theatre. She first acted in play Shokuntola. During that time under Atiqul Haque Chowdhury’s direction Mili acted with Suborna Mustafa and Pijush Banerjee in play Bhalobashar Golpo. Later she went to Iraq with her parents Abul Hashem Khan and Nujahan Khan. She returned to Bangladesh in 1982. On that year on July 30 she tied the nuptial knot with Abul Basar. In 1984, she left country from Sweden and later Saudi Arabia with her husband. From there she returned to Bangladesh in 2012 with two daughters. But she couldn’t return to media due to engagement with her daughters. After marriage of her daughter Nabila she first performed as model in a TVC of GrameenPhone directed by Adnan Al Rajib. Later she also performed in several TVCs as model.
Basically Mili returned to screen as an actress through Matia Banu Shuku directed a serial Agun Alpona, which was aired on Channel 9. Later she acted in many plays in role of mother and became not only popular to the viewers but also to her colleagues in that role. Mili also acted in Mostafa Sarwar Farooki’s last released movie Doob.
Now Mili is acting in Tanvir Mokammel’s movie Rupsha Nodir Parey, Mostafa Kamal Raj’s Jodi Ekdin, Faisal Ashish’s Zazabor and Dhrubo Rahman’s movie Dahokal. Now she is also acting in theatre plays. She always feels comfortable to give her identity as an actress.
