Mild heat wave may continue

The ongoing mild heat wave is likely to continue at some places in the country, said a Bangladesh Meteoro-logical Department (BMD) bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing 9am on Thursday.
“Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Madaripur, Tangail, Chandpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Satkhira, Jashore and Bagerhat and it may continue,” said the bulletin.
“Rain or thunder showers with intense lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Chattogram division and at one or two places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over northnortheastern part of the country,”it added, reports BSS.
However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country’s maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded 37.2 degrees Celsius at Khulna, while the minimum temperature on Thursday was recorded 21.0 degrees Celsius at Srimangal.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am on Thursday was recorded 104 mm at Srimangal.
