Australia captain Michael Clarke took the occasion of the start of the first Ashes test against England to announce that he and his wife, Kyly, are expecting their first child.
The couple, who have been married for three years, took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to announce they “are extremely ecstatic to announce we are expecting our first child. Can’t wait to meet baby Clarke.”
The first Ashes test starts in Cardiff, Wales later Wednesday, when Australia will attempt to win its first Ashes series in England since 2001.
