Staff Reporter: Mia Ghulam Parwar has been elected as the Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.
Jamaat Ameer Shafiqur Rahman administered the oath to Parwar on Thursday (Dec 26), for the next three years, according to the party’s publicity wing.
Parwar, a former MP of the party from Khulna-5 constituency, joined politics during his student life.
Party sources said that Mia Parwar joined Jasod Chaatra League in 1974. Later he had joined Jamaat’s student wing Islami Chaatra Shibir.
He was the Khulna unit President of Chhatra Shibir before serving as the Ameer of the party’s Khulna city chapter and the party’s central Assistant Secretary General.
