MI Cement, which sells its products under the brand name of Crown Cement, posted 5.8 per cent year-on-year rise in profits in the July-September period this year. Its profit rose to Tk 8.01 crore in the first quarter up from Tk 7.57 crore in the same period of the previous year.
The stock price of the company rose 0.57 per cent to Tk 70.40 on Wednesday at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
Despite the higher raw material price in the international market, its profits increased due to the increase in revenue resulting from volume growth and decrease of operating cost, said the cement maker in its disclosure that was published on Wednesday the DSE website.
