Experts at a seminar said the country has achieved a good progress in the metrological services in the past 10 years as a result of introducing modern technology.
The meteorological forecasting and warning systems in tropical cyclones has shown significant development due to applications of radar and Satellite technology and NWP model, they told a seminar on ‘Recent Advances in Meteorology in Bangladesh’ here on Monday, a press release said.
The Department of Meteorology of Dhaka University (DU) organized the seminar aiming to highlight weather-related activities of the country.
Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, Dean of Earth and Environmental Science Prof AKM Maksud Kalam and Director of
Bangladesh Metrological Department Shamsuddin, among others, were present at
the seminar.
