‘Meridian Finance & Investment Limited’, a non-banking financial institution, has formally started its operation.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman inaugurated the new NBFI at a ceremony at a city hotel on Monday. He unveiled its logo and slogan “Shaping Stories”.
Prime Minister’s Media Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, President of FBCCI Abdul Matlub Ahmad, Chairman of “Bangladesh Leasing & Finance Companies Association Asad Khan, Managing Director of BSS Abul Kalam Azad, Chairman of Ahsan Group Shahidul Ahsan, media personality Manjurul Islam, Chairman of Meridian Finance & Investment Limited Kazi M. Aminul Islam, Meridian DMD Irteza A Khan and members of the Board of Directors were present at the ceremony.
FBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmad said Meridian’s birth came at a “very challenging” time and hoped that it would play constructive role in the country financial sector.
