Rajshahi, December 13: A mentally disabled man drowned in a pond at Chondipur Poschimpara village under Bagha upazila on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam Rofiz, 45, son of late Sayed Ali, a resident of Khayerhat village in the upazila.
According to relative and family sources, Rofiz was a mentally disabled man. He went out of home on Wednesday. Then she did not return home that day. After a long searching, the family members searched him in different areas and found his floating body in the pond.
Officer in charge (OC) of Bagha police station Mohosin Ali said that on information, police rushed in and recovered the body from the pond. Later, the body was handed over to his family members.
