A mentally challenged minor boy was strangled to death at Pabla Dafadarpara of Doulatpur area in the city on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Samrat Khan, 11, son of Zahid Khan of the area.
Quoting family members, officer-in-charge of the police station Kazi Mostak Ahmed said police recovered the body from his residence around 10 am.
Being an autistic child, Samrat used to break down furniture when he went out of his temperament.
Any of the victim’s family members might have strangled him to death being disturbed by the child’s activities, the OC added.
The body was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
