Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon, who said that people could not vote in 11th parliamentary polls, skipped the meeting of 14-party alliance.
The meeting was held at the Awami League’s (AL) central office on the Bangabandhu Avenue on Tuesday morning.
Mohammad Nasim, Awami League Presidium Member and Coordinator of pro-government 14- party alliance, said that the alliance would ask Menon to explain his position about his comments regarding last December 30 National Election.
On Monday, Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon said, “Although I was elected in the election, I am testifying that the people couldn’t cast their votes in that election. They couldn’t vote in the Union Parishad and Upazila Parishad polls also”.
Nasim said, the 14- party alliance is not embarrassed at the statement of Workers’ Party President Rashed Khan Menon.
“However, Menon will be asked to explain the motive of his statement at the alliance’s next meeting. The issue will be discussed at the meeting and then next step will be taken,” he said.
