Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon on Friday underscored the need for developing a single platform among the South Asian countries to ensure uninterrupted campaigning to promote tourism.
“Nature, culture and adventure of the South Asian countries are same. So, we will have to promote tourism through a single platform,” he said speaking as the chief guest at the launching ceremony of a tourist organisation named “We Asia” at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the city, said a press release.
Bangladesh, India, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Myanmar jointly formed the organisation aimed at working together for promoting tourism.
Menon also emphasized on making tourist friendly foreign policies and visa process by the countries as well as ensuring low cost and safe travel for every tourist.
West Bangle Tourism Minister Gautam Deb attended the function as the special guest.
