A memorial meeting was held in the National Press Club, Dhaka on Monday to commemorate the Rajshahi University’s four former students, who contributed to the country’s democratic movement, education and the war of independence. Nurul Islam Thandu, President of the Old Student Association of Rajshahi University, presided over the meeting.
The speakers in their speeches lauded the role of ex. RUCSU Vice-President Abdur Razzaq, ex. RUCSU General Secretary Sardar Amzad Hossain, ex. Pro-Vice President Mizanur Rahman and student leader Abdul Quader Mollah.
Among the speakers, A.Q.M. Abdul Hoq, Bayezid Ahmad, Shah Mofiz, Begum Ferdous Nigar, Abu Bakar Siddique, Syed Tosharaf Ali, Sadaqat Hossain Babul Khan, Nurul Islam Mollah and Bahauddin Bahar delivered lectures. Ayub Ali Khan, General Secretary of the Association moderated the meeting.
One minute silence was observed in memory of the deceased. At the end, a special munajat was offered for the salvation of the departed soul.
