City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin said Memon Maternity Hospital of the city will be upgraded into a first grade hospital very shortly. He disclosed it while addressing the physicians, nurses and officials of the hospital at Sadarghat area in city on Sunday.
In the meantime, work of the civil and power development of the hospital completed at a cost of tk.1.50 crores and 77 personnels including doctors, nurses and midwifers have been appointed in the hospital, he added.
Mayor in his brief deliverations urged the doctors to dedicate their services for the benefit of the city dwellers and it is a humanity service.
He hoped that his hospital will be turned into a fulflfedged general hospital in coming days. Chitagong Memon Maternity Hospital is being runned by city corporation since long.
Among others, councilor Saibal Das summon, chief health officer Dr. selim Akhter Chowdhury, Chief Engineer Lt. Col Mohiuddin Ahmed, Superintending engineer Mahfuzul Hoque, Health officer Mohd.
Ali, In-charge of the hospital Dr. Ashish Kumar Mukharjhee, Senior Consultant Dr.Priti Barua, Dr Shaheen Parvin, Dr. Roksana Pervin, were present on the occasion, a CCC sources said.
