Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraj received an injury scare during Sunday’s high-voltage Dhaka Premier League (DPL) clash between Abahani Limited and Legends of Rupganj.
Playing for Abahani, Mehidy hurt his finger while fielding in the match.
Just after the match, he was taken to BCB’s doctor’s room from where he went out there with bandage at his injured hand.
“We don’t think the injury is serious. We have given him a rest for a day. For the time being, there is no need to have X-ray,” BCB chief physician Dr. Devashis Chowdhury said.
“After a day we’ll assess his condition before taking the decision of what to do. But we think he will have no problem.”
The incident happened during the 26th over of the game when Legends of Rupganj were chasing Abahani’s paltry 123-run target.
The batsman was Shahriar Nafees who drove hard a full-length delivery of Mosaddek Hossain in a bid to send the ball across the rope. Stationed at cover region, Mehidy tried to save the boundary only to be hit at his finger.
Ice was administered on his injured place before taking him to the doctor’s room.
When asked, Mehidy said, “It hurts hard on my finger but I couldn’t say anything about the extent of the injury right now.”
Abahani lost the game, termed as high-voltage clash by six wicket eventually.
