The BNP on Friday accused the government of opening the windows to plunder public money by presenting a mega budget in its final stage.
“The government is bluffing the people by expanding the size of the budget. All windows lead to corruption in the proposed budget. They have presented the proposed mega national budget for looting money ahead of the general election,” BNP Senior Joint-Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said it in a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the capital.
He said that the people had become frustrated, as the proposed budget was not people oriented. A big deficit budget like the present one cannot be implemented, because donor
countries and agencies’ mere assurance is no guarantee.
The budget is tax, loan and foreign grant dependent. The incumbent government frequently speaks about digital Bangladesh, but how could it be by imposing tax on using internet, youtube, facebook and google.
He said, the inflation will surely be increased, for the import expenditures will rise and contrarily income on export will go down. In addition the government has widened the trail of corruption in banks. The income from the banks will decrease, as the bankers have demanded so.
